Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is the term used to describe any type of learning that increases your knowledge, understanding and experiences of your subject area or role.

It covers the whole spectrum of independent learning. And you probably do more of it than you think…

CPD includes attending conferences, courses, online workshops and on-the-job learning. It also covers things like mentoring, giving presentations and conducting appraisals.

Read a book or listened to a podcast related to your career? You guessed it, that counts as CPD too.

At Genesis, we’re pleased to announce that we recently received our CPD Accreditation from the IPA (The Institute of Practitioners in Advertising).

This accreditation was given because our team have clocked up a collective total of 1000+ hours of learning and development in the last year.

That’s the equivalent to at least 24 hours per member of staff (and most do even more than this).

According to the IPA, accreditation is “the yardstick by which the UK’s best agencies want to be measured” and we’re delighted to have been recognised for our commitment to learning and development.

It’s a testament to our agency’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and upholding a genuine culture of learning.

And the way we see it, CPD benefits everyone.

By enabling staff to become conscious and proactive, rather than passive and reactive, it benefits not only each individual member of staff, but our agency, clients, and community as a whole.
